There are a few names that anyone in the military or just simple gun aficionados are familiar with. At the gun ranges, when men bring their Winchester .300s, Lapua .338s, M-24s or .50 cals, to practice that “one shot, one kill”, the often heard quip of those that miss their targets is, “You sure aint no Chris Kyle”.

Christopher Scott Kyle was born on April 8, 1974, and was gunned down just short of his thirty-ninth birthday at a gun range in Erath County, Texas, by a former Marine whom he was helping with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Chris was a highly decorated veteran serving at least four tours in Iraq as a member of  Navy SEAL Team 3, Sniper element, Charlie Platoon.

Our prayers go out to Chris’ wife, Taya Kyle and their 2 children, and Chris’s neighbor also killed in the attack, Chad Littlefield and his family.
